Tracy Jones was injured in a freak motorcylce accident in Balad, Iraq, while serving during the Iraq War in Operation Enduring Freedom. As a result Sgt. Jones in now quadriplegic and is confined to a wheelchair. When he returned stateside, he and his wife lived together in an appartment in suburban Atlanta. Adjusting to life in a wheelchair in an appartment that was not designed appropriately was very dificult for both. Recently he and his wife were the recipients of a brand new home, of which the majority of the financing will be provided by the Coalition, the Department of Veteran's Affairs as well as local contractors and vendors. The Jones' were even allowed to choose the community where they wanted to live. Sgt. Jones and his wife wanted to stay in the Fairburn, GA area so they decided to live in Wilkerson Mill Park. We at Mayfield Homes are honored to be partnered with this great charitable organization in providing a custom designed wheelchair adapted house. We broke ground on the house on May 26th, and will continue to post updates on the entire process as the Jones' build thier own home. |
